Our terminal operations are based on innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. A key element is the use of photovoltaic systems and HVO 100 renewable diesel, enabling us to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. Our commitment is further reinforced by our partnership with klimaaktiv, the climate protection initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry.

All terminal vehicles are powered exclusively by HVO 100, an alternative fuel. This transition has already delivered positive results – both in terms of emission reductions and fuel efficiency.

WienCont also pursues a sustainable approach to energy supply: With two photovoltaic systems installed on the terminal premises, we generate a portion of our energy needs on-site. As a member of the Vienna Solar Partnership, we actively contribute to the expansion of renewable energy in the city and strengthen our energy-autonomous operations.

Another contribution to our sustainability strategy is the deployment of two new empty container handlers, which are already in service and have replaced two older vehicles – a clear improvement for both our environmental footprint and the efficiency of terminal operations.
